Four Sunshine Coast printmakers will be part of the prestigious Sydney Contemporary Art Fair at CarriageWorks in Sydney from 7th-10th September. Fiona Dempster, Tory Richards, Catherine Money and Dian Darmansjah have come together to exhibit under the studio name ‘Good to Print’ in the Paper Contemporary , which features top modern and contemporary works of art on paper. A comprehensive and entertaining program of talks, demonstrations, workshops and tours, accompanies the exhibition and provides an up close, personal and professional insight into artists practice, the process and the intense work and skills. Specialist galleries, print studios and art publishers, with a wealth of expertise and knowledge at hand, will be on hand to inform, artists the public, and collectors from around Australia and abroad. You can browse works from the studios and galleries that will be involved on the Paper Contemporary site.
Congratulations to Dian, Fiona, Tory and Catherine for their inclusion in this event and thank you for being such good ambassadors for printmaking in regional Queensland.
Catherine Money attributes this collaborative initiative to the great success of the Print Council of Australia’s Regional Marks project series exhibition and associated events, which in 2016 assembled 50 local printmakers for the first time, to work together to raise the profile of printmakers across the SE Qld region
