Print Enthusiasm in Maryborough!

step
The well worn step into Maryborough Printspace has had more traffic lately

It’s been great to hear that things are going well for Maryborough’s Print Group who had an Open Studio  weekend before last where 25 people turned up to be tutored in a variety of print techniques by four volunteers. It’s hard to imagine how they coped in their small print studio, but apparently it was lots of fun.

A smaller, but still enthusiastic group of beginners turned up for their next Open Studio day and are now asking for formal tuition, so it looks like Maryborough Printspace is going to be a hive of activity. Great news! name

Nothing But The Print – Pine Rivers

window

Fiona Dempster, Saffron Drew, Jo St. Baker, Judy Barrass, Tory Richards, Susan Bowers, Stephanie McLennan and Catherine Money combine their considerable talents in this small exhibition to mark the  successful  completion (almost) of a year of events to celebrate PCA’s 50th birthday. The group has been the organising force behind the Regional Marks exhibition and other printmakers events in SE Qld. throughout the year. Collaboration and cooperation has been to the fore, so this small collaborative exhibition is a great way to celebrate.

The exhibition will be up all of November in the window gallery space at Pine Rivers Regional Gallery. The gallery is open Monday to Saturday 10-4.00, but of course the window can be viewed anytime night or day, so if you’re in the vicinity stop and have a look.

Welcome to Regional Print

Welcome to Regional Print, a SE Queensland based blog that brings you news and information about printmaking outside the metropolitan areas of Brisbane. At the moment our scope includes Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay, Toowoomba and Noosa, but we’re also hoping to include all printmaking groups or individuals who live outside Brisbane in the southern part of the state.
Our initial focus is the regional SE Queensland response to the 2016 PCA 50th Anniversary Year of Print, and in this blog you’ll be able to find out what’s on where and when. Have a look at our Calendar Page to find out what’s being planned for 2016 in SE regional Queensland. We’ll be updating the calendar regularly, as well as posting information about printmaking opportunities and events.
Please subscribe via email or follow us via RSS feed to keep up-to-date with what’s happening in printmaking in regional SE Queensland.
